Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Microwave-safe bowls
  • Toothpick or wooden skewer
  • Offset spatula

Ingredients

  • 10 oz dark or semisweet chocolate chips
  • 4 oz white chocolate chips
  • candy eyeballs and Halloween sprinkles optional, for decorating

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Melt the dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second bursts, stirring after each, until smooth, about 1 1/2-2 minutes total.
  • Pour the melted dark chocolate onto the parchment and spread it into an even layer, about 1/4 inch thick, using an offset spatula.
  • Melt the white chocolate chips the same way, in 30-second bursts, stirring between each.
  • Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the dark chocolate in concentric circles, starting from the center and working outward.
  • Immediately drag a toothpick from the center outward to the edge in straight lines, spacing the lines evenly around the circle, to pull the white chocolate into a spiderweb pattern.
  • While the chocolate is still wet, add candy eyeballs or sprinkles if using.
  • Refrigerate for 30 minutes, or until fully set and firm, then break into rustic, irregular pieces by hand.

Notes

Work quickly once the white chocolate is drizzled so the toothpick lines pull cleanly. Store in an airtight container at cool room temperature for up to 2 weeks, or refrigerate for up to 1 month, layering pieces between parchment. Calories per serving: ~100 kcal (estimated)
